Overview of the payment arrangement process

Launch · Paying Participants
Updated 6 octobre 2026

How Participant Payments Work

You decide what each participant is paid and when. ExpiWell handles the delivery, and the arrangement is deliberately built so that paying someone does not tell you who they are.

Deciding Amounts and Timing

Set the amount for whatever your design pays for — a survey, a run of surveys, completing the study. The Logs page is where you see who has earned what, with response rates shown anonymously.

Timing is yours: pay as people finish, or in periodic batches.

How the Money Reaches Them

Payments go out as Amazon.com gift cards, emailed to participants. You set the amounts on the Logs page, and the funds come from your ExpiWell Finance account, which you top up by card — see Paying participants.

Important

Participants' email addresses are never shared with you. The gift card goes to an address ExpiWell has, not one you ever see; you get a participant number, not a person. That is the point of the arrangement, and it is why payment does not undo the anonymity of an access-code or temporary-account study.

Privacy

The address a gift card goes to is collected by the app at the moment someone redeems, not held against their study record, and it is never shown to you. So paying a participant does not attach an identity to their responses — the anonymity comes from where the address lives, not from a promise about it.

Telling Participants

The app notifies someone when they are paid. Beyond that, say in your consent form or onboarding what they will be paid and when — the platform will not tell them your schedule, and an unexplained gift card is a support question waiting to happen.
