The most common questions from participants using the ExpiWell app, with short answers and links to the full guides.

How do I join a study?

Install the free app, then add the study using the access code your research team gave you: tap ＋, enter the code, and tap Add Experience. Some studies invite you by email or hand you a ready-made account instead. See How to add experiences and Create an account.

When do surveys arrive?

As notifications, on the schedule your research team set. Times follow your own time zone and adjust automatically if you travel. Surveys are only available inside their window, so respond when you get the alert. See Notifications.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. You can complete surveys offline — your answers upload automatically the next time you're online.

Is my data private?

Yes. You take part anonymized — no identifying information is shared with researchers through the app. ExpiWell is HIPAA and GDPR compliant, with controls monitored continuously. You can download or delete your own data from Settings.

Will I get paid?

Only if your study offers compensation. When it does, you're paid in-app as Amazon e-gift cards; track it under My Balance and redeem once you reach $5.00. See Receiving payments.
