Free Basic version

Every ExpiWell account starts on the Free Basic plan — free forever, no credit card required. It enables event-contingent Experience Sampling Method (ESM) and Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) research with no restrictions on scale, and creating an account takes about a minute.

What Free Basic includes

• Unlimited participants, responses, and projects
• Unlimited mobile surveys, with event-contingent ESM and EMA
• 12 question types, with randomization, grouping, and skip logic
• Rich text capability
• In-app digital payments (20% transaction fee)
• Free native iOS and Android apps for participants, in thirteen languages
• Participants automatically link across surveys and projects
• Anonymous tracking of participants' response rates and engagement
• Data export via CSV, TSV, or XML

Creating your free account

1. Click Create an account anywhere on expiwell.com.
2. Check your data region before you continue. Signing up creates a Global account, which stores your data in the United States. If your organization is based in the EU or EEA, follow the EU link on the sign-up form instead — the EU is a separate platform, not an option on this one.
3. Set up your first project and build a survey with the no-code builder.
4. Invite participants — they join through the free ExpiWell app.

When you need more

Scheduled notifications, adaptive time zones, multimedia collection, event-triggering, wearable integrations, and geographically explicit EMA live on the paid plans — Plus, Premium, Sensor+, and GEMA — each of which can be trialled free for 7 days when you sign up.
