Paying participants for survey participation
Paying Participants from Inside ExpiWell
Compensation usually means a second platform, a spreadsheet of who earned what, and a form per participant. ExpiWell keeps it where the data already is: you set amounts on the Logs page, and participants redeem from the app.
What You Pay On
The Logs page shows each participant's submission rate and response rate, so you can pay a flat amount for finishing, or scale it to how much someone actually contributed. Nothing forces a choice — the figures are there and the amount is yours to enter.
Tick the participants you want to pay and a Pay n selected button appears above the table. The dialog takes one amount for everyone selected, plus an optional message they will see.
Payments run from $5.00 to $500.00 per participant. Below five dollars is not a small payment, it is no payment — there is no way to send $1 for a single survey, so compensation has to be designed in amounts the platform can actually disburse. Pay per milestone rather than per response if your per-response figure is under the floor.

What Participants Do
Earnings accumulate under My Balance in their app, and they redeem whenever they like rather than waiting for you to run a payment round. Temporary-account participants redeem the same way — see Redeeming compensations.
Why It Keeps Studies Anonymous
You pay one lump sum to ExpiWell, which disburses to participants as Amazon.com gift cards. You never handle an individual payment, which means you never need their bank details, their address, or the forms that usually come with paying someone.
That is what makes paying an online, anonymously recruited sample practical. You are paying a participant number against an engagement figure, not a named person — so compensation does not quietly undo the anonymity the rest of your design protects.
A finished project can still pay. Deactivating a project does not close off messaging or payment, so you can settle up after fieldwork ends.
